About The Society for Diversity


The Society for Diversity Inc. (Society) is the leading professional association for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). We support professionals and executives who are tasked with advancing the next generation of DEI in the workplace. Since its 2009 founding by Leah Smiley, the Society has combined education and technology to develop effective workplace and marketplace diversity and inclusion interventions. As a global leader, we support more than 1200 individual and corporate members with educational and networking opportunities through our membership arm while our subsidiary, the Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC)®, is the world’s leading DEIA certification body, conferring the industry-recognized Certified Diversity Professional (CDP)® and Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)® credentials to qualifying practitioners.
