The Society for Diversity Executives and Professionals offers you an opportunity to contribute your knowledge, skills, and expertise in a volunteer capacity.  Essentially, you are a vital participant in this organization, and a shaping force in our growth by serving in communities that are designed to fulfill vital organizational tasks. How exciting it is to participate in such an important way!  The following communities, or committees, are available for you to join upon becoming a member. 

Education

This community develops topics and identifies speakers for events and webinars. The Education Community will also assist in the development of train-the-trainer materials and other curriculum demonstrating best practices in diversity.

Public Relations

This community will write newsletter articles, develop public interest stories on behalf of the Society for Diversity Executives & Professionals, and create show ideas for a diversity television program.

Awards & Recognition

This community will identify international agents of change for recognition in our newsletter and on our website. The Awards & Recognition Community will also nominate exemplary individuals and organizations who demonstrate commitment to and achievement in diversity. The awards will be presented annually at our diversity conference.

Membership

This community will engage in activities designed to increase membership, including attending trade shows and speaking at events. The Membership Community will also facilitate new member orientation conference calls.

Chapter Development

This community helps develop new chapters and new chapter leaders from around the world. The purpose of this community is to ensure that chapter organization is consistent and chapter leadership is effective.

Research

This community conducts research, develops surveys, prepares white papers, and creates other reports deemed necessary for our members to successfully complete their work as employees and consultants.

Global Outreach

This community coordinates worldwide outreach projects through volunteerism. For example, this community may coordinate a worldwide 5K walk for diversity, or may secure volunteers for international conferences.

Advocacy

This community stays abreast of legislation, corporate policy changes, educational trends, lawsuits, and other developments, and coordinates proactive responses from the Society for Diversity Executives & Professionals.

Each community will submit updates on a monthly basis for inclusion in the newsletter.
